Hope you all are all off to a great fall season! Well this morning I kicked off my annual fall breakfast for my family. At the beginning of each season I like to do a intimate breakfast for my husband and I to bring us into the new season. I theme my table after the new season. I pull out those Pinterest recipes that I have been wanting to try. I really have fun with it.
So here are some pictures from this morning along with the recipes that I served. Hope you enjoy!
I got all the recipes above from Pinterest. I am happy with how they all turned out.
Here is my latest video on my pantry organization. Hope you enjoy! -Nichole
Hope everyone has been doing great! I know it has been a minute since I have blogged. I have been a bit under the weather for the past week. Feel much better now so back in business :). Wanted to show you all some great and easy organizational tips for your jewelry.
This is so easy to do. Simply take a piece of linen fabric and hot glue to the backing of the frame. Remove the glass from the frame (you won't need it). You then can simply hook your earrings on to the linen fabric and makes for a beautiful look. You can do this with a huge frame and hang in your closet to store your earrings. Even the small one that I did hear is great for your bedside table.
Using a large beautiful bowl is a great way to store all of those bangle bracelets ! I used this beautiful beaded bowl that I purchased from Havana Vintage in Northern Virginia. It is the perfect size to house all of my bangles and makes it so easy to get to them and to put them back in place.
I was so excited to day to receive my first "Little Black Bag" in the mail today. I just started my subscription this month and am loving it already! For those of you who have never heard of "Little Black Bag" it is basically a type of monthly subscription which is a fun shopping experience. Here is how it works
Each month you receive a box in the mail.
The box contains one item you pick (which you go to their website and choose your first item from a huge selection of designers such as Steve Madden, Betsy Johnson, Badgley Mischka, BCBGeneration any many more designers.
They then place two more items in your bag that they choose. You are always able to see what is in your bag online. So basically if you do not care for the items that they put in your bag you spend the month swapping and trading with other ladies on line. It is really a fun experience! If you want to learn more about the subscription you can go to the website at: www.littleblackbag.com
The concept is loosely based on a Japanese tradition in which retailers sell mystery bags to their customers. So basically a group of friends would go to the store and purchase a mystery bag. They would all then go out to lunch with their bags and then open them. They would then swap and trade their items and have a great time!
SO WHAT WAS IN MY LITTLE BLACK BAG FOR THIS MONTH:
Large BCBGeneration Tote (This was the item I chose): Retails for $88.00
Spring Street Wood & Chain Tassel Earrings: Retails for $18.00
NCLA Nail Lacquer in Venice Beach Vixen: Retails for $16.00
So all in all I am very happy with my first bag. Now the fun starts all over. It is time for me to go pick another item. The subscription in $49.00 per month. Which is not bad when you look at what I would have paid if I purchased them on my own retail.
Also what I love about this subscription is that you don't have to do it each month. If you don't want to participate one month just easily decline your subscription that month online. Or if you want to send your months subscription to someone else for that month, they allow you to do that. This is great when you have a birthday gift you need to give someone.
Hope you all have been having a great week so far!
Well today I tackled my linen closet. I needed to spice that space up. My linen closet needed a serious make over! I am happy with how it turned out. Check out this video of my new closet :
Well the my laundry room makeover is complete! I was so frustrated with that room because it had no function and no decor. When I first moved into my house a year ago I painted the room and hung my chandalier. I added some baskets, but they still were not enough to make the room function for me. I had no storage for cleaning supplies and no place to fold clothes.
So earlier this week I was so frustrated with the room I grabbed hubby and jumped in on a makeover project. I am so happy with how it turned out. Now the room is pleasing to the eye, and more importantly it is FUNCTIONAL! YAY!
Here are some pictures and a video tour of the room.
The wall color I used in the room is called "Peacock". I love the vibrant color with the teals and whites. My husband purchased and installed the cabinets for me from Lowes. He also built this counter around our washer and dryer. Love it!
I purchased these tin cans from Target for $1 each! I put some chalkboard labels that I got from the Martha Stewart line at staples on each and with chalk I labeled each tin. Now I have a place to throw all that loose change, buttons etc. that I find in the wash. I also have tins for those little things that I am always needing on hand.
On the counter I just have some Lemon hand lotion and a bit of decor.
My pantry in my kitchen is loving me right about now! I have moved all the cleaning supplies out of the pantry and into the laundry room. It is so awesome to have more space to organize! This cabinet houses all of my cleaning supplies. I love my cleaning caddy!
This cabinet houses all of my items for my kitchen such as dishwashing tablets, scrubbers, dish towels and hand soap and dish washing detergent.
This cabinet houses all of my laundry items such as detergent, fabric softner, bleach, washer cleaner etc.
Loving the counter space. It is so awesome to now have a place to fold all my clothes!
VIDEO TOUR OF MY LAUNDRY ROOM MAKEOVER
Now that the room is complete it is time to get all that laundry done that piled up while making over the laundry room this week! Hope you all enjoyed.
Operation "Transition Out Of Boyd's House" complete! So I wanted to set up some type of organization system in our garage to handle everything that is not staying in our home. So someone gave me this great organizational tip for how to handle items that you are not keeping in your home. I love the system and it will keep me on top of filtering those items out of the house.
So basically I have a bin for items that I am returning to the store, borrowed from someone, donating and selling. So as I come across things in my home that fall into any of these catagories I just simply place them in their bin. Then I can easily get to them when I am headed to run errands and can drop them off where they need to go.
I got the bins from my local Lowe's store. They run approximately $8.00 per bin. I think it was well worth the investment. Well hope you all have a wonderful day!
Hope this blog post finds you all doing great! I know I have been a bit slow with posting lately, but my schedule has been a little bit crazy. But no worries, I am slowly but surely getting a system in place to keep me on top of everything (I hope).
So I recently did a video tutorial on chandalier cord covers on my you tube channel (my you tube channel link is: http://www.youtube.com/AtHomeWithNikki ).
