So next month is my BFF  birthday!  She is a avid tea & coffee drinker so I began looking online for some cute birthday gifts.  While on my search I ran across a new item on the Yedi houseware website.   It is called the "Tea Tower".  It is really a cute concept.  I have seen plenty of the tea for one stackable sets, but this one is a bit different.  It is the teapot, tea cup, sugar and creamer cup all in tower form.  They come in different styles and colors also.  You can get the tea for one, and they even have the tea for two styles!  I was even thinking that a alternate way she could still use this piece if she had more than two guest is to use the actual tea/coffee cup for mini biscotti or tea cookies and then just use other tea cups to serve the tea.  In the end I still love the design and the piece.  Great job Yedi!  You can find these tea towers on their website at: www.yedihouseware.com

So of course I am still working on my spring cleaning projects.  Here is a update on how it is going.  So last night I had a plan for today to wake up and clean out this walk-in closet that we have downstairs by the kitchen to make it the new home for all my silver, charger plates,  entertaining platters etc.   Currently these items are residing in stacks in my dining room.  Well, what my intentions were and what actually happened are two different things.    The walk-in closet is currently the home for several of our items that just do not have a place in the house.  When we moved in the house we just  placed all the wandering items in there.  So when I opened  the closet today I immediately knew today was not the day to find those homeless pieces a home :).  So, I shut the door and headed to the store and purchased two inexpensive shelving units from Target for $29.00 each.   I placed them in my laundry room and now my silver collection has a home until I can find the drive to tackle the closet (which may be spring clean-up season 2013).  Great thing is the shelves will fit great in the closet once I get it emptied.  Here is a picture of the shelves with my silver on them in the laundry room.  Please excuse the fact that all my silver is not shined.  That was another intention I had today that did not become a reality :).  Wish me luck on my 2012 spring clean journey! :)

So before I started creating new pieces for prom, I needed to do my research on this year trends.  Well I am here to tell you it is all about color in 2012!  We will be seeing girls in beautiful bold and bright colors.  The dresses will range from long dramatic gowns to short fitted dresses.   Below is one of my prom pieces done with Swarovski crystals in a vibrant dark teal color.  I can custom make your prom pieces in a wide range of styles and colors.  Contact me if you would like to have a custom piece made.  I would love to make your prom vision come to life!

It is prom season!  Time for those your girls & guys to go out and start shopping for beautiful dresses and tuxedo's for that magical night!  I am also getting ready for prom season with Nikris Designs.   Some of the things that Nikris Designs can custom make for prom are brooch wrist bouquets, earrings, bracelet and necklaces.   Below is a picture of one of our  hot pink with white feather wrist brooch bouquets.  The brooch bouquet is a fun and different twist to the traditional flower wrist bouquet.

Well Easter is right around the corner so I have been preparing my Easter table along with creating some Easter pieces for Nikris Designs.  So this year I decided to do my Easter table using Peacock Blue, Green and Purple.  Although I am not a huge fan of purple, it is the punch I needed to bring the table to life.

I have been working on some Nikris Design serving and flatware sets in purple also.  I should have some for sale on the website soon for anyone wanting to incorporate those colors into their Easter table settings.  You can also contact me if their is a custom set you would like made.

One thing that I did fall in love with that I found at Michael's Arts & Crafts was my green grass table runner.  This was the first time I had seen this in Michael's so was extremely excited!

Now I am really wanting to go over the top and hang a rustic latter above the table with beautiful greenery hanging throughout for a very outdoors garden feel.  I saw a display in Pottery Barn this past weekend while my mother-in-law and I were shopping downtown Charleston and it was FABULOUS!  Of course when I presented my idea to my husband he was not thrilled and I have not been able to get him on board with this project, so it may be a loss cause.

Now here are some pics of what I have done so far with the table.  The one thing that I do not have is purple tea cups and saucers, which I do need to complete my table.  When I lived in England I purchased the one teacup that you see pictured for my mother (and forgot to send to her..hehe).  I love the teacup but I only have one :(.  So now I am of course on a mission for some unique and whimsey purple teacups this week!  So if any of you see any great purple tea cup finds this week, let me know.

March 2012 is here!  Well we know what March means!  Time to start getting those spring cleaning plans in order.  Today I really need to sit down and plan out the projects that I want to get done this spring.  Perhaps it is tradition, but this is the only time of year I get motivated to gear up for some serious home organization.

So although I do have my main home office that I work Nikris Designs from, I also have transformed the closet in my den into a little office.  This mini office is great for holding some of my supplies and providing me with a alternative work space.    Although I have installed a desk, shelving and lighting into the office closet, I am still not completely done with decorating and making it a functional space.

Many times in your home there is just not enough rooms to allow for a home office.  Well I find that transforming a closet into your personal office can be not only a very fun project, but also a very productive move.   If you add good lighting, functional accessories and beautiful accents (such as Nikris Designs writing accessories and brooch bouquets) you can truly have a wonderful office space in your home.

Well once I have my office closet fully complete I will be sure to post pictures.

Below are some pictures of some closet office transformations that I found to be very nice and functional.
